Establish a New Fund

Establishing a fund at the Community Foundation of Marquette County is an easy way to invest in our community. You can create a fund that supports a particular need or area of interest, or one that is multipurpose and flexible. Whichever option you choose, the fund you create will make an impact on community needs.

Types of Funds

Unrestricted Funds

Your gift is highly flexible and available to meet the breadth of community needs—including future needs that may not yet be imagined. Your community foundation’s program experts evaluate all aspects of community wellbeing—arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, health and human services, neighborhood revitalization and more. Unrestricted gifts empower us to make strategic grants, where need and opportunity are greatest.

Donor Advised Funds

Enjoy ongoing involvement. When you establish a Donor Advised Fund, you work with our professional program staff to identify possible grants that may benefit a variety of causes and organizations important to you. Your recommendations are submitted to our local board for approval, and grants are distributed in the name of
your fund.

Field of Interest Funds

Focus your gift on an important area of community life, such as enriching education, safeguarding health, strengthening families, improving neighborhoods, cultivating arts or protecting the environment. You identify your personal interest when making your gift; our board awards grants to community organizations and programs that are making a difference in the area you select.

Agency Funds

A simple and efficient way to create a source of permanent capital for your organization’s future. These funds offer a reliable, ongoing source of support. Your organization receives the added benefit of our expertise in helping you develop planned giving programs and facilitate complex gifts from your donors. We handle the investment management of the fund and all administrative details, including gift processing, record keeping, tax reporting and audits.

Designated Funds

Direct your charitable gift to benefit a specific nonprofit organization or purpose. Your gift can provide an ongoing funding stream for a senior center, museum, or virtually any nonprofit charitable organization.  For the nonprofit, the fund creates a permanent income stream from which they can take annual distributions to support their mission or preserve the available dollars for a large expense in the future. Because it’s given through the community foundation, your gift
provides the nonprofit not only funding but also planned giving support and investment management services.

Scholarships

You can invest in the lives of students who are pursuing their dreams. The community foundation provides the expertise to help you meet your personal goals and awards scholarships to deserving students who meet the criteria that you are able to help set. Your gift can help students at all ages and stages pursue education and open
new doors to success.

Establish a Fund in Your Name

Any of these funds can be established in your name or in the name of your family, your organization or anyone you wish to honor. All grants made today and in the future are awarded to charities in the name of the fund. It’s a beautiful way to link your community investment with a special person or purpose, forever.

To discuss establishing a new fund, schedule a meeting with Zosia Eppensteiner by calling our office at 906.226.7666.
